Adult’s Rock School UK

We have just had an amazing weekend here at The Rock & Roll Circus with Rock School UK. We took a bunch of adults (between early 20s to 70s) and taught them how to rock!!!

Many of them had never played an instrument before, others haven’t been in a band since their youth and wanted to recapture some of that former glory.

We spent a whole day at the studios in our bands learning covers and everyone worked REALLY hard to learn 3 songs and at the end of the day had some practice performances which can be viewed here

Then the next day we had our gig at The Wardrobe and what a gig it was! Every band did really well and performed incredibly!

Leeds Zine Fair 2017

The Rock and Roll Circus shares an employee with Footprint Worker’s Co-op, your friendly radical risograph-happy zine printers, based in Chapeltown. Coming up on Sunday 10th September is their annual extravaganza of all things print!

The fair will have 60+ stalls of local (and not so local!) artists, designers and creators selling their wares, a licensed bar to quench your thirst all day long, a film screening and various workshops including Footprint’s infamous Zine-In-A-Day where you have the opportunity to draw your very own page which will appear in a collaborative zine to be printed, collated and bound throughout the day before your very eyes!

Come down and say hi, eat, drink, read and be merry!

They shot the entire video at our premises and we are blown away by the result!

Forever Cult release new track ‘Codeine’

Local legends Forever Cult have been around for some time now, but it hasn’t stopped them from releasing banger after banger. Codeine is no exception.
It gives insight as to what the new ep holds; dissonant riffs, moody tones and a darker undertone that threatens to pull you into their whirlpool to drown beautifully with them.

Where Fires Are release new video

Leeds band Where Fires Are have just released a music video for their latest track “Die Or Survive”.

The track itself is like a sherbet fountain but instead of tasty sugary goodness, you replace it with soaring vocal lines, heavy hitting lyrics and a composition that compliments the video as a whole.

We want to congratulate Where Fires Are on their hard work as a band, we wish you the best of luck!

Kumiko Video Shoot

Today we had the wondrous, whimsical and well good Kumiko shooting some footage in the Lounge room. We have no idea what song it’s for, or indeed what was going on.

What we do know however, is that they are a remarkable band. Having released their second EP, “Chinatown Moon” in December, the band have clearly evolved and grown into something truly special.

Check out their EP streaming link below and be sure to catch them live soon!

Already Heard Recomends

Circus regulars Furr have been included on the latest compilation by Already Heard entitled ‘Already Heard Recommends Vol 4’.
